Ask yourself, “why do I believe we need to reduce our waste?”, “who am I doing this for?” and “will this positively impact my family?” Once you’re clear on your “why”, slowly begin implementing the waste-free ideas that are right for your household.

Reduce single-use plastic
Carry a reusable water bottle, reusable coffee cup, reusable produce and shopping bags and say no to plastic straws. Grab yourself a metal straw and wooden/metal cutlery kit and pop it in your handbag.
Plan your meals
Planning your menu for the week allows you to buy only what is needed, which in turn reduces food waste and saves you money. Once a week, before you do the shopping, do a stocktake of your pantry and see if you have any staples that needs using up like rice, quinoa and legumes. Then, create your meals around these items and prepare a shopping list
Shop at bulk food stores
